Striking a healthy balance
An internet browser visually translates a series of mathematical equations written by a programmer into the coloured blocks that you see onscreen. Effective website design therefore requires a balanced blending of artistic inspiration and mathematical reasoning.
Without a comprehensive understanding of both disciplines, developers run the risk of creating websites that are either non-functional, ineffective, or just plain ugly. Due to the opposing nature of these skill sets most design companies will subdivide web tasks to separate employees which lead to increased costs for their clients.
