 September was a hugely busy month on two main fronts and saw the relaunch of a hugely revamped Hollyford Track website. Optimised to take advantage of new interactive technologies, the new look website (intricate design by John from UMC) is bursting with both emotive and informative media assets that will have everyone dying to book a ticket and enjoy their own uniquely New Zealand outdoors experience.
The biggest challenge (from a web developers point of view) were the full-screen backgrounds that the client wanted and organising them in such a way that they don't impact on the scan-ability and readability of the main page text. As always New Zealand is a wonderful subject matter to work with and exposure to such gorgeous imagery makes me want to take a holiday - lol.

I wanted to create a truly unique user experience with the web design portfolio and have invested a lot of time lately into creating something vastly different from other design agencies.
There's still a massive amount of archived designs to categorise and upload (several hundred), but the groundwork has all been completed and the code tested positively on all browsers including IE6 (though I scripted support for it out at the last minute due to the increase in code length required). The requirements for the design were that it would be clean, professional, easily sorted, and interactive for the viewer.

Almost completed - lol - the HTML Joomla version of the site went live today.
The old Flash version was more of a 3-month search test than an actual website. I was approached by a large client who will relaunch their website in October and wanted some research done on the new SWFAddress library (a javascript library which allows search engines to index Flash sites - see http://www.asual.com/swfaddress/ ).
